Additional Remarks and Comments

Meeting was a tremendous success, run professionally, organised brilliantly and rewarded with a huge 16,500 Christ Himmelfarth crowd. Whole weekend was well managed throughout,so it is with great credit to the Herxheim club committee and all the track staff and helpers that made it all possible. My sincere thanks to the Clerk of the Course Joachim Ohmer, who managed and oversaw everything, it was a pleasure to work with him again.

The entire weekend ran like clockwork and was a real honour to be part of it and was personally very proud to have refereed a Longtrack Final at the famous Herxheim circuit. With such a large and excited crowd it felt like being transported back to the 1980’s and early 1990’s in the memorable times of the legendary racers like Wigg,Tatum and Riss were racing. I learned some history from the Club President EdelbertMuller about Herxheim such that that I had actually officiated at the 117st longtrack meeting ever staged at the Waldstadion, which was also the fifth occasion that a FIM World Longtrack Final to have been staged at the Herxheim since the historical race venue opened back in 1931. I sincerely hope it goes on to stage both successfull longtrack and speedway meetings for many years to come.
